THE 21ST CENTURY HAS BEEN A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT
The following link is to my column that appeared in the June 20, 2019 edition of The Tennessean and the Commercial Appeal and is reprinted with the permission of both.
When I was a boy growing up in the 1960s, my favorite TV show was "The Jetsons." It was all about the wonderful adventures of a 21st-century space-age family. There was George Jetson, Jane (his wife), daughter Judy, and his boy Elroy.
As I watched "The Jetsons" each week, I was convinced that I was getting a glimpse of my future in the next century, and it looked fabulous.
My future, as portrayed on "The Jetsons," would bring at least three wonderful inventions.
